On the other hand, a carpet, also known as a wall-to-wall carpet, covers the entire floor. Because of this distinct difference, area rug cleaning and carpet cleaning are done very differently. The reason why area rugs can not be cleaned properly in your home is because they cannot be dusted properly, pre-soaking is impossible, stain removal can\u2019t be done properly, and cleaning the top and bottom of your area rug requires two different cleaning processes, which cannot be performed inside the home with a truck mount or paintable unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, your floor under the area rug may get damaged if the rug is not hung to dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inadequate drying of your area rug can also cause mold and mildew as well as permanent damage to your rug, in effect shortening its life span.<br>On the other hand, wall-to-wall carpet is made for in-home steam cleaning. Piles are made for on-site washing by portable and truck mount units. To ensure the colours do not run we treat the rugs prior to cleaning with a special ingredient. This ingredient \u201cfixes\u201d the colour prior to cleaning so the colour does not bleed or run. In most cases silk area rugs come in with a single stain issue such as coffee, juice and pet stains. This requires more work to concentrate on the area with the stain which may increase the price to process the silk rug.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Can you clean wool rugs without shrinking them?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Yes, with proper water temperature and detergents that are loaded with eucalyptus oils, this oil protects the fabric from being distorted during the cleaning process.
